Stephens Inc. hired Jennifer Herber as a managing director in
its corporate finance practice. Based out of New York, Ms. Herber
will be responsible for originating underwriting and M&A
advisory business, focusing specifically on the specialty retail
and consumer sectors. In a statement, Mr. Herber alluded to the
stress facing retail, noting that the upheaval could lead to more
activity in the space. Ms. Herber’s premise appears to be on the
mark, according to Mergers Unleashed, as numerous consumer oriented
deals were announced the week of November 10th.
