Responding to news of a joint venture
between Chesapeake Energy Corp and Total E&P USA, Keith
Behrens, managing director in energy markets at Stephens, stated
that there are many shale gas developments in U.S. being tapped by
international competitors. He expects other major oil companies,
wary of missing out on such potential, to be on the hunt for assets
in U.S. shale.
