In 1946, Jackson T. (Jack) Stephens, Witt's brother, joined the firm. Known as the "Southern Gentlemen of Banking," the Stephens brothers quickly established the firm's reputation for wise investment strategies, astute financial foresight and cutting edge client services. During his years as CEO of Stephens Inc. (from 1956-1986), Jack Stephens strategically expanded the scope of the firm's investment banking services and products. Jack is largely responsible for the development of the distinctive, personal style for which the company is known today.

Providing the second generation of Stephens' family leadership, Warren Stephens has served as Chief Executive Officer of Stephens Inc. since 1986. In 2006, Warren Stephens acquired 100% of the outstanding stock of Stephens Inc.
