Mitch Harless

Mitch Harless joined Stephens Insurance in 2016 as a Senior Vice President in the Property & Casualty Claims Management division. As such, he is a resource and advocate on all claim-related issues arising from his clients' operations and performs contract reviews, making observations and commentary on insurance implications, and supports the production teams in new business presentations and stewardship meetings.

Harless has over 30 years of Property & Casualty claims experience. Prior to joining Stephens, he was the South Zone, Claim Executive for a multinational finance and insurance corporation in its Houston office. For 10 years, he was a resource to insureds, brokers, underwriting, and the claim department for all claim-related issues. Before that, he spent 17 years with St. Paul Fire and Marine as part of the dedicated upstream oil and gas business unit where he was the national manager for all claims arising out of the O&G underwriting unit. This specialized unit was recognized for its expertise on general liability and operators extra expense claims. During this period, he gained experience with the interaction of contractual liability coverage and indemnification/anti-indemnification. His insurance career began in Lafayette, LA, handling multi-lines casualty claims including statutory and USL&H workers compensation, Jones Act, general liability, and auto liability.

Following an honorable four year enlistment in the United States Marine Corps, Harless used the G.I. Bill to earn a BA in Marketing from McNeese State University located in Lake Charles, LA.
