Senior Vice President, Commercial P&C Risk Manager
Donna Sanford joined Stephens Insurance in 2017 and currently serves as a Risk Manager in the Property & Casualty division. She acts as a liaison between insurance company, agents, and insureds providing review and design of client’s insurance program, including Terms & Conditions, Contractual Review, and Placement of Coverage and offers alternative risk transfer strategies and review internally and with clients, including Deductibles, Self-Funding, and Collateral Analysis. She leads market negotiations and placement for Stephens’ Private Equity and Global Risk Management team in the Birmingham office. She is responsible for designing both master programs at the Fund level, in addition to advising portfolio companies on the overall risk management/risk transfer strategy best suited for the firms objective risk tolerance.
Prior to joining Stephens, Sanford spent 25 years as a Senior Vice President and Marketing Account Executive at insurance brokerage firms responsible for the design and placement of National & International Risk Management programs for MSW’s private equity & global risk management clients. She has significant client experience with traditional, non-traditional, and alternative risk financing with companies operating in difficult and heavily regulated industries.
Sanford holds designations as Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and Construction Risk And Insurance Specialist (CRIS), as well as accolades including “Insurance Woman of the Year” and the “National Association of Insurance Women Educational Achievement Award.”
