Managing Director
Mr. Lapeyre joined Stephens in February 2016 as a Managing Director. Prior to joining Stephens, Mr. Lapeyre founded Virage Energy Group LLC, a Dallas based advisory firm in 2012, focused on A&D advisory services for middle market independent energy companies engaged in upstream oil and gas transactions ranging from $5 million to $100+ million. Prior to, Mr. Lapeyre served as Managing Director of Energy Spectrum Advisors Inc. (ESA). During his 13-year tenure at ESA, Mr. Lapeyre and the firm’s engineering and finance professionals sourced, negotiated and closed more than 100 corporate/asset sales, private placements and M&A transactions in the upstream energy sector with an aggregate transaction value of over $8.0 billion. Earlier in his career, Mr. Lapeyre held various senior business development, financial, and technical (petroleum engineering) roles with Merit Energy Company (Dallas), Torch Energy Advisors Inc. (Houston) and ARCO International Oil & Gas Company (Los Angeles). Mr. Lapeyre has a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa and an MBA with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
