Dan Clague is a Managing Director of Stephens Europe and leads the Transport Services and Infrastructure Group. He is a specialist in the marine sector. Prior to joining Stephens in 2014 he was a Managing Director at Hawkpoint Partners. He was earlier a managing director or director of SG Hambros, ABN Amro and Baring Brothers where he started his investment banking career over 25 years ago after four years working for Ocean Group as a shipping and ports manager in West Africa and the US. He has experience of both public and private company mergers & acquisitions. He has acted for many different types of client including corporate and government-owned businesses as well as private equity and infrastructure funds. His assignments have included transactions all around the world and in most of the main sub-sectors in the transport industry including the sales of Unifeeder to Nordic Capital, Silja Line to Tallink, Isle of Man Steam Packet to Montagu, Commodore Shipping to ABN Amro, Fesco Far East to Hamburg Süd, Esco in Thailand for Hellman & Friedman and Seastreak for Sea Containers. Acting on the buyside he advised CMA-CGM on Comanav, Rreef on Port of Lübeck, Oaktree on Navig8 Chemical Tankers, Hutchison on ECT and Montagu on Unifeeder. His capital markets experience includes the IPO of ADL, the spin-off of CP Ships, the bond issue for Port of Rostock and Rule 3 advice to Simon Ports. He has a BA in English from Oxford University and a MBA from London Business School.
