Mr. Levitan joined Stephens in April 2021 as a Managing Director in the Capital Solutions Group. Prior to joining Stephens Mr. Levitan was a Managing Member and Portfolio Manager at Scott’s Cove Management LLC, an investment fund adviser specializing in event-driven and special situations credit, including stressed, distressed and bankruptcy investing. Prior to Scott’s Cove, he held senior positions at RBC Capital Markets, Wasserstein Perella and Oppenheimer & Co., among others. Mr. Levitan has spent over 30 years researching, investing or advising companies experiencing financial stress and has 40 years of experience in leveraged credit. He has been an investment banker, built and managed fixed income and distressed research and sales teams, run debt capital markets and invested on behalf of banks and institutional clients.
Over his career Mr. Levitan has been involved with companies across many industries including, but not limited to, energy, telecom, financials, healthcare, retail and consumer, general industrial and services. He has participated in and led creditor groups negotiating restructurings, provided exit financing, sat as a board observer and played other roles in and around distressed situations. As an investment banker Mr. Levitan has completed numerous financings, largely for middle-market companies in the high yield and equity markets.
Mr. Levitan received his MBA from Harvard Business School and received his BA with honors from Dartmouth College. He also holds the CFA designation.
