Steve Egli

Mr. Egli joined Stephens in 2020 as a member of the firm's Financial Institutions Group in San Francisco and is responsible for investment banking coverage of banks and thrifts in the Western / Rockies region of the United States. Prior to joining Stephens, Mr. Egli spent over ten years at Sandler O’Neill & Partners, L.P. advising financial services clients on M&A and capital markets transactions. Over the course of his career, Mr. Egli has executed a wide array of M&A, debt and equity transactions representing over $9 billion in aggregate value. He has been involved in 39 completed bank M&A transactions with an aggregate deal value of approximately $5.5 billion. M&A advisory experience includes buy and sell-side whole-bank transactions, branch acquisitions and branch divestitures and, FDIC assisted transactions. In addition, he has served as an advisor on 21 completed bank capital markets transactions with aggregate proceeds of $3.5 billion including three IPOs. Capital markets transaction experience includes initial public offerings, public and private common stock follow-on offerings, and the issuance of subordinated and senior debt.

Mr. Egli also served three years as a Research Analyst in the Economic Analysis and Planning Division of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency where he focused on research on banking industry practices, bank regulatory policy and their associated economic impacts.

Mr. Egli graduated Magna Cum Laude and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Economics from Utah State University. Additionally, Mr. Egli received a Masters of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
