Philosophy & Approach

John has been a member of Stephens Private Client Group since 2002. “With more than 50 years of experience, I have enjoyed long-term relationships with many clients. It is my job to protect and grow their assets as their lives evolve and financial goals inevitably change,” says John.

John is supported by Melissa Cecil, a registered client associate since 1994 with more than 35 years of administrative experience.

Experience & Education

John joined Stephens in 1970 and worked for the firm until 1997. He returned to Private Client Group in 2002 after working at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc.

John received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southern Methodist University. He is also a graduate of Stephens’ advanced wealth management program, Stephens University, offered through Wake Forest University.

Personal

John and his wife, Joy, have four children, John Ray, Carrie, Rachel, and David, and have 17 grandchildren. Most of John’s free time is spent with family and watching his grandchildren playing sports, acting in plays, and participating in other school activities. He is an avid Razorback fan and enjoys playing golf.
