Philosophy & Approach

Rob has been a trusted consultant for more than 15 years and seeks to make a meaningful difference in his clients’ financial well-being through knowledgeable and sound wealth management. In tandem with his son and partner, Charlie Porter, they bring a familial, multigenerational perspective to client relationships. According to Rob, “Whether we’re working with an individual or a family, we know that investment needs and risk appetites are as varied as the disparate generations they represent. Our guidance is designed to meet them where they need to be today and get them where they want to be tomorrow.”

Experience & Education

Rob joined Stephens Private Client Group in 2001. Formerly, he was a practicing orthopedic surgeon with Ortho Arkansas.

Rob received his Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance with honors from the University of Arkansas in 1973. He also received a Doctorate of Medicine with honors from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Rob completed Stephens’ advanced wealth management program, Stephens University, at Wake Forest University.

Personal

Rob is active in his community here in Little Rock. He has previously served on the board and finance committees of the Arkansas Children's Research Institute, the Easter Seals of Arkansas, Arkansas Game & Fish Commission and the Arkansas Symphony.

Rob has two children, Charlie and John, and three grandchildren. In his free time, Rob enjoys hunting, fishing, reading and exercising.
