Bill Johnston

Bill Johnston joined Stephens in 2012 and has thirty years of experience serving a broad base of public finance clients throughout Georgia and the Southeast.

Mr. Johnston has served as Senior Managing Underwriter or Municipal Advisor for numerous Georgia issuers. A partial list of past and present clients include: State of Georgia; City of Atlanta; Fulton County, Chatham County; Gwinnett County Water and Sewerage Authority; Augusta-Richmond County; University of Georgia Athletic Association; Emory University; Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD); Woodruff Arts Center; Georgia Municipal Association Pooled Loan Program; Gordon County; Morgan County; South Fulton Municipal Regional Water and Sewerage Authority; South Fulton Jail Authority; MEAG Power; Carroll County Water Authority; City of Buford; Buford City Schools; City of Peachtree Corners; City of Dalton; Newnan Utilities; City of Fairburn; Clayton County Water Authority; and many others. In addition, Mr. Johnston has financed over thirty municipal telecom projects throughout the United States.

Mr. Johnston earned a Master of Accountancy degree from the J.M. Tull School of Accounting at the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science degree from Presbyterian College. Mr. Johnston is a Certified Public Accountant and practiced in that field for eight years. He is a licensed Municipal Securities Principal and Municipal Advisor Principal. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Young Harris College.
