John Denery joined Stephens Insurance in 2002 and is an Executive Vice President and Employee Benefits Advisor in the Life & Health division. With a strong focus on innovation and transparency, he works with clients across many industries, both private and public, on all facets of their employee benefits programs. He brings a strong analytic background with a focus on risk management strategies that effectively bring down cost trends with sustainable solutions.
From 2012 to 2018, Denery was the Director of Life & Health. During that time, he led the firm's development of its self-funded platform, which provides robust in-house resources—including clinical risk management and data analysis—to effectively respond to the evolving needs of clients.
Prior to Stephens, Denery started his insurance career at Unum in 1998. He is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and the Society for Human Resource Management. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Search Ministries, Young Life Ministry.
Denery earned a BA in History from Hobart College in Geneva, New York.
