Philosophy & Approach

Chris has been a member of Stephens Private Client Group since 2011 and has more than 40 years of industry experience. When discussing his approach to wealth management, Chris states, “A successful wealth management plan takes into account various factors, such as risk tolerance and growth expectations. In addition, when developing a balanced portfolio, I consider stocks with reasonable growth rates, income producing stocks, and bonds that reduce volatility.” He believes this mix allows him and his clients to better navigate market fluctuations and life events.

Chris is supported by Vanessa Etheridge, a registered client associate since 2008. With more than 15 years of administrative experience, Vanessa is an integral part of the team.

Experience & Education

Prior to joining Stephens as a Senior Vice President, Chris worked at Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc., which later became part of Morgan Stanley.

Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He received a Master of Arts in Community Leadership and Public Administration from Central Michigan University. He also completed Stephens’ advanced wealth management program, Stephens University, offered through Wake Forest University.

Personal

Chris continues to be an active member of the local community. He has served on various charitable Boards, ranging from the local United Way, The Memphis Shelby County Humane Society, The Oral School for the Deaf, and is Chairman on one of the committees supporting the WGC FedEx St Jude Invitational Golf Tournament. Additionally he hosted classes through the University of Memphis Continuing Education program. Prior to entering the Securities industry, Chris was a United States Army Field Artillery Officer serving in various positions throughout the Unites States and the world.

Chris and wife, Emily, have four children. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling and golf.
