Jim has more than 40 years of experience assisting clients with comprehensive wealth management plans, specific to their individual needs, taking time to truly understand their goals, preferences, and concerns. He believes his clients should have plans and solutions as unique as they are. "My goal is to serve as a comprehensive, multigenerational consultant to families through the evolution of their financial needs. As such, I provide tailored plans for all stages of life, from learning about investing and accumulating assets to guiding retirement income and estate planning,” says Jim.
Ashley Blalock, a registered client associate with more than 20 years of experience, supports Jim and offers a high-touch level of service for all clients.
After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Jim began his career with Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co, Inc., and its successor Morgan Stanley. He joined Stephens Private Client Group in 2010. Additionally, Jim is a graduate of Stephens University, an advanced wealth management program, offered through Wake Forest University.
A native of North Carolina, Jim is dedicated to his home state. He currently serves on the board of the Senior Services Foundation, a non-profit helping the elderly to live with dignity. He also serves on the finance and audit committee for the Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem. He previously served on various educational and arts boards including the Episcopal High School Board of Trustees, the Board of Visitors for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Sawtooth School for Visual Art.
Jim and his wife, Kathy, have two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing, reading, and drawing.
