Jim has over 40 years of experience assisting clients with comprehensive wealth management plans, specific to their individual needs, taking time to truly understand their goals, preferences and concerns. Jim and his partners believe their clients should have plans and solutions as unique as they are. “Our goal is to serve as a comprehensive, multigenerational consultant to families through the evolution of their financial needs. As such, we provide tailored plans for all stages of life from learning about investing and accumulating assets to guiding retirement income and estate planning,” says Jim.

Mary is a Vice President as well as a Branch Administrative Manager. Ashley is a registered client associate with more than 30 years of experience, and Jane is also a registered client associate with more than 40 years of experience supporting the team.
After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Jim began his career with Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co, Inc., and its successor Morgan Stanley. He joined Stephens Private Client Group in 2010. Additionally, Jim is a graduate of Stephens University, an advanced wealth management program, offered through Wake Forest University.
A native of North Carolina, Jim is dedicated to his home state. He currently serves on the finance and audit committees for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Piedmont Triad. He has previously served on various educational and arts boards including the Episcopal High School Board of Trustees, the Board of Visitors for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Senior Services Foundation and the Sawtooth School for Visual Art.
Jim and his wife, Kathy, have two children and one grandchild. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing, reading and drawing.
