John Black

Philosophy & Approach

With a client-first approach, the Whitman Group prioritizes communication and transparency. As part of the team, John serves as an analyst and works to provide individuals and families comprehensive investment solutions that address all stages of life. John says, “Money and finances impact so many aspects of an individual’s life. As consultants, our team is there to assist them with a healthy financial foundation. This begins with helping clients understand their full financial situation, then walking them through an actionable plan that strongly aligns with their financial needs and goals.”

Experience & Education

John received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also completed Stephens’ advanced wealth management program, Stephens University, offered through Wake Forest University.

John joined Stephens in 2013. He began his career in 2012 as an analyst in the financial sponsors group at McColl Partners, LLC.

Personal

He and his wife have one daughter, Annabelle. He enjoys golf, fly fishing and UNC Football.
